We love helping people in different areas of life, we teach the bible but we also help out in construction projects around the Island. We had the opportunity to volunteer in Haiti after the devastating earthquake that rocked the country, as well as participate in a country wide recycling project helping Dominicans be green.

We have been able to impact the lives of many people, but unfortunately our little 1999 Daihatsu Terios is down for the count. Our work necessitates us having a reliable vehicle. In Extreme Need of Financial Assistance

Here's a heartbreaking story of needs. Please read it and try to help this couple. Good day, Thank you for taking some of your valued time in order to read my letter, it is deeply appreciated. Like so many people out there, me and my family has also fallen on hard times. What makes my situation different or direr than any of theirs you may ask? Honestly, I cannot answer you that. There will always be people whose situation and circumstances are far worse than mine. I still have a lot to be grateful for and believe me I truly am. All that i currently need is a little bit of financial assistance. Where do I begin? Let me try to give you a brief outline of my current situation, as I do not wish to waste any of your time. We were always able to pay our housing bond, utility bills, childminder and other expenses, until recently. My husband had a good job and was also studying part-time in order to finish his Law Degree. I was also in my first year studying for my Bachelor of Education Degree, when I discovered that I was expecting my third child. I continued with my studies until I went on maternity leave. I wanted to continue my studies the following year, but was unable to qualify for a student loan or a bursary as I did not finish my studies the year before. I did pass all my previous modules. Thus far, I have missed out on two more years, as I did not have the necessary funding to continue with my studies. My husband took out a bond on our home in the year that I enrolled at university. With that money he was able to cover all my study fees, pay for a childminder and extend our home. We both needed an extra space where we could study and do our work. Regretfully, things at my husband's workplace got so bad that I could not bear it to see him coming home looking so stressed out and sick. The new manager was giving him grief because he always covered and stood up for the people that he was supervising. I was then the one that advised my husband to resign from his work and to focus on his studies instead. I felt that the money we borrowed at the time would be able to cover our expenses for the year, and that by the following year he would have a new job and everything would be okay.

Needless to say, it did not work out like that and I blame myself for the predicament that we’re currently in. The money that he earns a s a Candidate Attorney is barely enough to pay our bond, never mind all the other monthly bills and our daily expenses. The bank has graciously halved our bond for the past few months in order to accommodate us, but can no longer do so. I am really at my wits end, as I can’t even help my husband to alleviate our financial burdens.

The jobs I was able to find could only cover my travelling expenses and was definitely not enough to pay for a childminder to take care of my children as well. Then I still had to worry about aftercare for my children that were attending school, as well as a carer for my bedridden father-in-law. So currently I am a homemaker, but I deeply desire to go back to university. I have been accepted at The University of the Western Cape to continue my studies in 2014, but I am worried about all the financial costs involved.

I can also only consider going back if I know that my children and father-in-law will be in safe, capable hands. It is my utmost desire that my children will be in very capable hands while I am attending classes during the day. I want to give my best in class, but not at the cost of my loved ones. Regretfully I started a bit later with my Higher Education, but I know that a person is never too old to further their studies and pursue their dreams. I believe that by obtaining my degree, I can build a better future for myself, my loved ones and my community as a whole.

Never in my wildest dreams did I think that I would turn down this avenue in a bid for help, but I surely feel good just relating my story to someone.

I understand that you may receive many letters, like this one, requesting for financial support, and I would honestly understand if you are not able to assist me at this point in time.

Help Dee's sister, Becky, Breathe and Live

"My sister Becky is a severe adult asthmatic and has struggles for 10+ years just to breathe. She has been told for years that her job was killing her slowly. But, as this was her only source of insurance she was unable to change jobs or quit. Her medical bills have been taking every spare dime she has, and no other company in their right mind would hire a person who cannot complete an interview without wheezing audibly. She has been averaging a hospitalization every 6 weeks for the past 2-3 years. Finally in March of this year her pulmonologist refused to allow her to go back to work and placed her on leave, she filed for her short term disability insurance and only received partial payment as this had already been mostly exhausted for previous hospitalizations. She has been without income of any kind since March of this year, and has moved in with our elderly Mother who is on a fixed income and unable to provide more than a roof over her head and food on the table. Her short term disability expired and she has applied for long term disability insurance but they are stalling and have been reviewing her records for 3 months and have yet to make a determination, they feel asthma is a kids disease and that she should be able to work, despite the volumes of information provided by multiple pulmonologists and frequency of her hospitalizations.

Becky is back in the hospital right now and received devastating news today. She is out of options as no medications work for her and her only option is Bronchial Thermoplasty. her insurance company has denied multiple requests for this procedure to be paid stating it is too "new". She would have to pay for the procedure herself. The pulmonoligist has stated he will waive his fees to perform the procedure but she will still be responsible for the hospital costs. The pulmonologist states her lungs are failing as we speak and this is her only option.

Is there any way I can get her some help? She is only 54 years old. She has had no life except hospitals and worry over medical bills for years and now she is told there is a possiblity of helping her but she can't have it done because her insurance company won't pay.

"Hi my name Is Mara Im 24 Polish girl and up to few months ago I believed that I had a good future ahed of me. I moved to Australia 2 years ago with my Fiance to start a new life. And thats when the things have changed rapidly. As soon as I was put on my Fiances visa he became very abusive and controlling knowing that I have no one to turn to for help he was able to get away with this. But after a year of constant abuse I finally got tired of this knowing that he will not change I finally got enough courage to leave him. As a vengeance he have cancelled my visa and cleared my bank account knowing that if I want be able to pay for flights out of a country I will get deported. I managed to save some money that I had in separate account and hire a migration agent to help me appeal to my visa cancellation. Unfortunately the decision was not overturned. So now my only option that will save me from deportation Is to enrol in to School and swap to student visa, but I can not afford the tuition. I have tryed to find a job for past 3 for months but no one will hire me without a visa. At the moment Im sleeping on my friends couch as I cant afford rent and bills anymore and Im forced to eat instant noodles as this is all I can afford to eat. This situation and the constant stress and fear of whats going to happen to me has taken his turn on my physical and mental health. I was recently admitted to psychiatric unit after a nervous breakdown and was diagnosed with severe depression. I have hit a rock bottom and I have lost all hope that anything good will ever happen to me and I lost the will power to live my life. So Im begging you please give me my hope back, give me a reason to believe that things will get better. Im begging you to help me. Holiday Miracle Needed to Pay Bills: Disabled Veteran Cannot Get Medicine, Pay Bills...

“I am in need of a miracle. Last year my identity was stolen by one of 3 scam loan companies that took $5,000 the year before. Because of the scams and the identity theft my credit is terrible. I have ask Jesus for a financial miracle. I had applied for a $40,000 loan but got scam out a lot of fees. The company that told me I was approved have offices all over the world.I was already behind in all my bills from paying these fees. Within the last 2 months I have gotten 15 letters from various government agencies telling me that I owed fees and if I do not pay within 24 to 72 hours I will be arrested. The letters told that I had applied for a loan from a place that had money all over. They kept telling me I owe all these fees for taxes and fees that I did not pay. They kept telling I had to file different documents to show that I was not money laundering.

I am now over 4 months behind in all my bills. I need $10,000 to get current on my bills. I have been evicted once and my daughter twice because of these scams. I did not know that I was being scam by the government agencies. I paid out $10,000 on these scams. I am retired on disability retirement. I have lost one car and now they are ready to take the other one. I am a disable veteran who can not get service connect. I have not been able to pay my old bill for $460 to Va so now they are garnishing my check for 25% until bill is paid. I have not been able to get my medicine for 3 or 4 months. I have to go to Va for a lot of appointments. I have to take my sister to dialysis for 3 times a week . My daughter uses my car to go to work also since we lost hers. She do not get a lot of money. I do not have any more money to pay any bills. My creditors are calling family members and friends trying to get them to pay their bills.

My bills are on automatic debit so the bank is getting almost all my money. We are behind with the mortgage,utilities,water bill and garbage at least 2 months. I am behind in my car and car insurance by 4 months. We still have to pay my daughter's car off. The bank is selling it for a cheap price to everyone but us. They want us to pay $16,000 but hope to get at least $3,000 at the auction.

I do not have money to buy food,diapers and gas. I have taken the under pads that go on bed to protect the sheets and cut them down to make diapers. The Scam loan company has said they would transfer money in my account since May. They always come up with another fee or reason the money is not in my account. It is really terrible when you pay for a list of places that loan to people who credit score is bad and you get scam.

I keep praying that someone would trust me and give me a loan. I have tried to do the cyber begging but have not have any luck. I wish I could get the $40,000 to pay off most bills or $60,000 to pay off everything. Once I am current I can afford to pay $500 loan payment back each month if I got the $40,000 or $60,000 loan. I have tired to make money like empower network and pure leverage. I never made any money only paid out money. The people that was supposed to train me was in London. They wanted me to go all in which is $5,500 each month. I told them I only got a little over $1,500 a month so where did they think I was going to get the money from. Can you please add me to your prayer list. My blood pressure and daily migraine headaches are out of control because of stress. When I get too stress off. I turn to prayer and reading the bible and also start reading and studying various Christian books I have.

I need help paying my bills that is now 4 months behind of scam loan and scam government agencies fees I have not been able to pay my co pays for my medicines so I can not get it. I have tried working at home and internet jobs but made no money. Now my bill collectors are calling friends and family to ask them to pay. "This year has been a whirl wind for me and my fiance. first she lost a car due to her ex husband changing bankruptcy filing from a 13 to a 7 just before that bill was to be paid off without letting her know, then he and his new wife decided to try to take the custody of their 2 children away from her. He feels that his holy rolling self and his brand new wife that cannot have children deserve to have sole custody and brought many false accusations against her and myself. I work all over the country doing entry level communications work and she works in a low paying hospital job and we have lost our townhouse and are reduced to living in a tiny trailer just trying to stay above water while fighting this custody change (all of the accusations have been proven false by doctors and financial statements). "Hi my name is Jim. I am a 13 year veteran with an honorable discharge who has served during three conflicts. I recently got out of the Army in April 2013 I am on unemployment drawing $752.00 every two weeks. I do not receive any aid. My rent is $1195.00 a month. I have actively looked for work and have been unable to obtain a job paying more than minimum wage.

I have gotten behind on paying my rent due to paying for insurance that I desperately have to have because I have a wife with a medical condition. My unemployment barely pays my electric, water, vehicle payment, and insurance. I received a notice last week (Nov 8, 2013) stating that if my rent wasn't paid by November 15, 2013 the eviction process would be started. I have two daughters and I don't want to have to tell them that we are being put out in the street. I need help. I hate asking for help but I have no choice.

"I cry and pray everyday since my mother passed away due to M.S. about 8 ms.ago.. My son and I live inside of my van, and when I call agencies, it seems no one can help us.. I've even posted my van to sell which has a handicap lift in it. No such luck yet. Desperate to Pay Doctor Bills

Here is a story of need, a heartbreaking story that will make you become a good Samaritan. Help this man pay his bill

" I am a 40 year old (will be in November) single white man, no children, no family of my own - just a few aunts and uncles scattered here and there. I have always tried to be a caregiver to my elderly aunts and uncles, I have stayed in my hometown because I know that If I left, they wouldn't have anybody to check up on them or get them things from town when they can't get out themselves. One of the aunts I try to take care of daily (2 sisters who live together) has been paranoid schizophrenic all her life, and I am the only family member who can and does help take care of her. They are the only reason I stay in this town. I have begun suffering problems of my own over the last few years - I have a chronic compression fracture in my lower back, and have been in active pain management because of it for the last 5 years.

I have just recently (in the last two years) begun to suffer from extremely high blood pressure and abnormally fast pulse rate. It is all I can do sometimes to get up and take care of myself each day - but I still try to take care of these two aunts every day as well. ( they are 76, and 68 years old). My problems have gotten me to the point where I can 't hold a job - I can't stay vertical enough hours of the day to go to work. I left my last job in May, because I just couldn't work 10 hour shifts anymore. I have tried at every available place I can here in my town - and every time I talk to Human resources, everything is just wonderfully peachy until they find out I have health problems. And the minute they find out I am in Pain Management it is a definite "Sorry - you wouldn't be a good fit here" situation. I have applied for disability but I was of course denied -because I can do "desk work" (i have been in the IT industry for all of my career - and that doesn't require any lifting. But the places won't hire me - even for non lifting jobs, because I am a liability that they are afraid they could get stuck with if I hurt myself while working. Basically I'm a risk they don't want to take. I don't know what else to do. I have consistently applied at EVERY job in my town - and they all say the same thing. But I can't afford to just pick up and leave my town, because my aunts wouldn't have anybody to take care of them.

So I am just stuck. And I now have about $2000 worth of Doctor Bills because of the testing I had to do with a cardiologist because of the High Blood Pressure and Tachycardia problems I have begun experiencing of the last two year. I don't know how long it will take me to appeal my disability - but I have to try to do that now, and of course, I don't qualify for any welfare assistance or anything like that because I'm a young white man in my prime. I should be able to just do anything - but I assure you I cannot. So as I continue to try to find a job every day-(the WIN Job center is getting tired of seeing me in there almost daily) and take care of my family - I have just used everything I spent the last 25 years of my life working for. I am hoping that something will become available by Christmas, if I can just hold in until then- but I'm not going to make it past the next couple of weeks if I don't get help from somewhere. I have always tried to be a compassionate and charitable person - and when I was working I regularly gave to charities. But now I am at the point to where I need someone to help me. I have gone past the point of being ashamed and embarrassed by my situation - I am almost at the point to where I'll have nothing left to lose. So that is why I am turing to the internet - the only place where I know more people than I do outside my front door, and asking humbly for help. I'm not ready to leave everything I have in my apartment and go start sleeping in a cardboard box in the alley - but that's where I'm headed if I can't find someone who cares enough to help me out. I'll take anything I can possibly get - but my main concern is the $2000 medical bill for my heart tests.

I am working almost 20 hours a day online as a "mechanical turk" on Amazon, doing "Human Intelligence Tasks" - like transcribing Audio and video for $10- $15 per job to make enough to keep the rent paid and the lights on. I only eat once a day, when I can afford to - but I can live a little without food as long as I have somewhere to stay and stay cool. I have always tried to be compassionate and giving, and I just hope that there is somebody out there who feels the same way, who can help me in this most difficult time. I don't qualify for public assistance because I don't have kids, and I'm just not the right type of person to be needy enough, I guess. I have worked every day of my life since I was 15 up until may of this year. And now that that I'm having health issues, it's like -"Oh, well, thank you for all you did, but we don't want to help you out anymore because you aren't important enough for us to waste our time on. We'll hire the new healthy young people to do your job and you can just go fade off into wherever, we don't care, and don't bother us anymore." I really hope that there is someone out there who feels like I am not a waste of space. Because if there isn't then I don't know what I'll do next.

I know that I am not begging for help for my child or anything (because I don't have children) but I don't think that I should be treated as worthless. So please, somebody, help me. Dryer and Air Conditioner Stopped Working

"In the Last week I have discovered 4 devastating expenses. I live in southern California, the temperature has been in the 80's - 100's more often then not since May. Our Air conditioner has stopped working, and that's at least a $200 bill I cant pay. Our Dryer just decided to quit and I dont have a clothes line, nor anywhere to hang one, or anywhere I can dry the clothes, not even an available fence, can't afford a laundry mat, much less the $100-$300 I've seen for a used dryer. That leads to the next big bill. Recently California has acquired the pesky tick-like bug called a "chigger", and they are all over my yards, that's another $150-$200 bill. Alas, when it rains it pours. Last night we discovered that what we thought were ant bites, are not ant bites. We have Bed Bugs. I don't know how I will ever get them out of the house. My kids are being bit, I'm being bit, and the infestation is terrible. I saw, and squished, at least 50 of them in my room last night once my friend pointed them out. I truly thought we were just having bad luck with ants since its summer. That bill is going to be somewhere around $1500 - $1800. While thinking about all this, I sit here and stress even more over how I will ever even buy my children school clothes in August, with everything crashing down around my head. I have 2 kids. A boy aged 9, going into 4th grade, and a girl aged 6, going into 1st grade. I don't know what else to do but to ask you kind people to help me and my kids. "Hello Everyone. I am asking for a couple of different wishes. And I need some Awesome Hero’s Bad. I am new to this site. Never done this before, A friend of mine, told me about this site and told me I should give it a try. Hi, My name is Meredith and my amazing 7 year old son's name is Vinson. And I have been the victim of Domestic Violence for the last 6 years of a 7 year marriage. I was fortunate enough to get out of it alive, but not unscarred. I have had several unfortunate events take place in my life, but my marriage to what I thought was a very loving and caring man was indeed my most unfortunate even yet. The only thing GOOD that came from it was my amazing and resilient son. He has more strength than I ever will be able to possess. He has unfortunately had to watch for himself some of the abuse that I had to undergo during my time with my (hopefully) soon to be ex-husband. At the beginning of August 2013, after just having my life be threatened and struck for the last time at all, more importantly in front of my child; he left to go to work -- I saw my window to escape and I took it. I grabbed what I could of my son's clothes, toys, and some things of my own and ran as fast as I could. Since then We have had some friends that I have had been lucky enough to keep throughout the marriage that have allowed us to sleep on their couches, but all in all still jumping from couch to couch just to keep a roof over our heads, a place to lay our heads, and a place to comfort our bellies. Just a week ago, I also found out I was pregnant -- with twins. Yes, under all this pressure it has now been brought to my attention that I am not just caring for myself and my son, but the two unborn precious babies that I have inside of me. I have sought help through the local DV intervention Safehouse, and have taken comfort in knowing that I am not alone. They have been such a joy to have around. Caring for me, and getting the prenatal care, offering us a place to sleep in a shelter, and even a ride every now and then that I may need. They have informed me that they can help me in my process to finding a place, help with utilities, and other means but they can only help so much... That is where you come in and my need for posting this request. It has been hard enough having to save face with friends or family when it comes to asking for help, but it has been much more difficult having to explain to my son why we don't have a place that we can call our own. I have been on the hunt for a place to live, and by the good graces of God himself, have found something. But it is going to 950 dollars just to move in.. As if that is not enough, I have not had any bills in my name for years and every necessary utility that we have to have (gas, water, power) all require a deposit of at least 100 dollars. I have not been allowed to work in years, so having any money "saved" or put back for a rainy day was completely out of the question. My ex had total control over anything and everything that involved me, my finances, my friends, and even the family I spoke to. I have been looking every single day that I can get a friend to volunteer themselves to drive me around or allow me to use their car to look for employment, but having no recent job history has proven to be very difficult in a struggling economical crisis. I have also sought out the local resources and funding that my state offers and have filed for food stamps and TANF (temporary assistance for needy families) I have my appointment coming up soon. Not having my own vechilie has made things pretty rough considering you need one for almost everything. Going grocery shopping, getting to appointments, and looking for a job. I know that God has blessed me when it comes down to waking up in the morning and getting to see Vinson smile and hold my hand, and I am thankful to be here even if just for one more day; Subsequently, there have been days though that I wonder when will I catch a break? And if miracles really do happen for people like me? I would ask family... but consequently, staying in a marriage that was unhealthy and ultimately leading me on a self destructive path of drugs has caused me to burn a lot of bridges and has proven that blood really isn't as thick as it should be. I am happy to say though, that as of August 5th of this year I have been clean for 2 years. It has been a long and hard journey, but it is not one that I will give up on. I know that "just for today" I can maintain my sobriety and for my son, be the best "I" I can be, mother and maybe someday in the future companion that I am. I get a sense of gratification everyday that I wake up seeing that beautiful tan little boy smile and me and tell me "I love you," he knows that things may not be as good as they can be, but I let him know every single day that "In the end, things will get better -- and if they haven't gotten better yet, then my dear you know it's not the end for us." He just smiles. I know he doesn't fully understand, but I know he grasps it to some degree. It was my moment of clarity that I had done the right thing when he most recently looked at me and said, "It's nice to have you smile, and not cry because of daddy." IT was THEN I knew he had seen far more than he should have. I want my son to be able to have the opportunity to know what love REALLY is, be guided by heartfelt remarks and not by a fist. I am asking you to help shed a little bit of comfort into mine and his life. Just a little bit of help is all that is needed. I know that I have listed several things that we need help with, but if just every person who reads this donates just 5 dollars then I am sure we will be in our own place in due time. I know God gives us things when we are ready, and never puts more on our plate than we can handle. He gave me this life, ultimately because he knew I could handle it. I'm strong, but I want to be able to offer my son and my two angels on the way some more solidity than what they are already having to face. The children are really the victims in situations like this, and I want to be able to lay them down to sleep in their own beds, have a meal with them at our own table, and smile at them every morning on the bus from my own yard. Hi, my financial problems all started about 3years ago when I was retrenched from my job. I have been a single mother for most of my daughter’s life but before we were always able to make ends meet. Last August I had my first child Rein Zander James Hamilton with my boyfriend Duncan Hamilton. We were so happy to have our son in our arms at last and be a family. Duncan actively searched for a job and was hired as a manager at Montanas re-opening in our town. Duncan had worked as a manager there for many years before corporate shut them down, he was the best man for the job no questions about it. Duncan trained in a town an hour away from home and was gone 10 hours a day 6 days a week. It was hard not having him home with us but we knew our family had the financial support we needed. Duncans job was not long lived he trained for over two months and his boss had made him so many promises only to fire him after opening their doors and having him work two 18 hour shifts in one weekend. Duncan losing his job was devastating. We have bills we could no longer afford to pay after we pay for our rent some groceries everything and I mean everything my son needs for the month. The only income we now have is my government check from childrens aid because they are my legal guardians until I turn 21. Duncan has been actively searching for a job but it has become so difficult in our town to find a job. For the past year he has been having tests done and just recently found out he has a disc out of place at T-6 multi-level disc degeneration and spinal stenosis. I have bi-polar and Fibromyalgia so now we are both waiting to file with disability for some chance at financial stability for our son. Our monthly income is now 825$ it is a monthly cheque I receive from childrens aid society; they have been my guardians since I was 15, plus our baby bonus. Every cent of the baby bonus goes towards formula, jar food, infant medicines like Tylenol and oragel he already has 7 teeth! They grow too fast! Diapers, wipes, clothes and anything else he may need that month. Our rent is $784.14 a month (it just went up a certain percent because we’ve lived here over a year) Unexpected yearly fees were added to a maxed out 2000$ credit card, collection agencies are calling for a $400 credit card, we have another $1000 credit card, we’ve cancelled our cable but owe well over 200$ for it. We have a $200 cell phone bill ( we are in the process of downgrading our phones so we can pay less, we do need our cell phones in case of emergency and to be able to keep in contact at all times but with the phones we have you must have a 50$ plan). Duncan had his car repossessed years ago because Montanas shut down years before, he is still paying monthly fees of 125$ currently owing $5,500 still, he now has to pay 265$ towards his student loan every month (which is $26,000). I just cant believe we are in this spot right now… there is no way we could ever pay these bills with our income and disability could take up to 6 months for our applications to be filled out and processed.

Family torn apart by broken immigratio​n laws

Here is a sad story presented by the wife of a deported business man. Find a way to give a hand to this woman. "Hello. I was a single mom struggling for 7 years, when I met the love of my life. He is from Ireland, and we married about 9 months after we met. He has been a father and friend to my children and stabilized us financially by opening a business. We filed our immigration paperwork in May of 2012, not realizing there would be any problems because we had been married for a good while. My husband's business partner, who we just found out is a convicted felon and has active warrants and tax liens, reported my husband to ICE this year when we started to file the business taxes. He told them exactly where my husband would be and pulled him over, taking him and my son out of the vehicle by gunpoint. They detained my husband for 3 weeks and promptly deported him without even giving us a hearing. We paid thousands of dollars for our paperwork, and are still waiting for our immigration interview. Since he was detained, the business partner has stolen everything. The company vehicles, the monies that were due, which my husband worked for. My son also worked there, and has been denied his wages owed. We are completely broke, other than my paycheck which is 450 per week. We have zero rent money, that is what my husband paid and now thousands of dollars in legal fees we had to pay to attempt to get a stay of deportation. We had cooperation from our State Senator and ICE denied our stay that was based on our hardship.

I also was born with bullous emphysema, and my husband was the primary breadwinner. Now I cannot even get my medication. Our only options are to sell everything and temporarily relocate to Ireland, where there is no employment available..In order to do that we need a large amount of money. I have spent the last 7 years making sure I never had a late payment on any credit cards or car payments. I just paid my car off in December of 2012. This was supposed to be the year we could actually start saving for a real future. Simply because one man doesn't want to face up to his criminal issues, we have lost everything.

We have tried to go to the police with all of this, but it is a civil issue and one to which I have no means to fight for. So we have to pick what is more important ...our family being together or fighting a man who would stoop to such a low level to destroy a family that he might have financial gain.

I am looking for any help I can get. My husband is extremely dyslexic and can read at the level of a seven year old, but is a brilliant business man. His family in Ireland, however did not deal with his learning disability, as his mother died when he was only 7, and therefore he has no more than a 7th grade education. This makes it extremely difficult to get employment outside of working for himself.

He is a very good man. My children are half-Jamaican and their own father doesn't help. Before we met, a lot of men wanted to go out with me, but once they found out my children were of mixed race, they would gracefully bow out. This man came to this country with nothing and has done more for my kids than their own father. That to me is a good man. He has helped several other people start successful small businesses in the short time he was here. This is the problem with our immigration laws, the real bad people never get deported, but the people who document themselves and try to play by the rules are being targeted because they are an easy catch.

Please consider my cause and need to ask for financial help. I have never had to do this before, and I am humbled by the experience. Thank you for taking the time to read our story.

Disabled Man Needs Your Donations

"Hello everyone. I am 55 years old and have worked all my life until I developed an illness which after ten years and failure to diagnose has left me on Disability for the remainder of my life.

Ten years ago I was walking as I did each day after a long day in the restaurant where I worked. I began to have pain in my feet and really did not think much about it until it became worse day after day. I began seeing different Doctor's who performed nerve testing and multiple scans. I had cortisone injections to start which had little effect. Slowly the nerve pain climbed up both legs and into my right arm followed by the left arm. The pain was incredible and more and more testing was done by multiple doctors including teaching Doctors at UPMC and other places. I was placed on Duragesic Pain Patches, Percocet and Methadone as the pain became worse. A spinal stimulator was implanted as a last resort but was removed as it failed to curb the pain. I was forced to quit working and apply for Social Security Disability. During this time I had bills, including housing that everyone has. I continued to pay for everything by cashing in all my savings and all of my retirement funds. While waiting over a year for a decision hospital bills also began to pile up. Slowly I began losing the battle of the bills. One can only hold out for so long. Finally the Permanent Disability was awarded and I began receiving approximately $1200 per month. This amount was not much and so I had to decide what to pay and what not to pay. I also had to have several out-patient operations for which I had no insurance. Medicare does not activate for two years when disability is awarded even though the government agrees that you are and will be disabled for life. During the two years the bills just increased over and over. My home had to be sold as I could no longer make the mortgage payments. For temporary shelter I live with a sister in her home and at times I live in a home she rents when it is not rented but none of this is permanent.

After two years I was awarded Medicare which I do pay a premium for and also pay a 20% deductible on everything that it covers and it does not cover everything. My most recent one day operation was billed at over 84000.00 dollars to remove a Kidney Stone that was not related to my other illness. 20% of the remaining bill is payable by me. I make payments as I can but frankly I am broke.

Currently no cures are foreseen as the pain source is unknown and labeled as idiopathic in nature. Along with large doses of methadone I also must take percocet and also blood pressure medications. Of course my medications must come first in my expenses.

I am pleading for your help. A small piece of land will be given to me and I have found some Amish who are willing to build me a one person cabin type building on the land. The will do the work at their cost but it must be done while they are not busy which is winter and that is now. Completed the work and home will be approximately $40,000. No home can be purchased at such a low price. I'm asking that everyone who can make a donation please do so that I may again gain some independence and have a place that I can call home. If you can give a dollar or twenty dollars, anything is appreciated and will help me achieve my life again. I feel shameful having to ask anyone for money but I'm at the end of my rope. I must have a place to live as what I have now is temporary.
